More and more companies are going down the route of offering Employee Share Schemes (also known as Employee Share Plans), often as a way of rewarding employees.  However, to operate such schemes, professional advice is required to ensure they are administered and managed correctly and are legally compliant.

Share Scheme professionals generally start their career either providing taxation advice via an Accounting/Consulting firm, or legal advice as a Solicitor with a law firm.  The two roles are clearly different and require very different knowledge bases.  Such is the growth and technical expertise required to work in this area, that it is rare to find a person who has the technical experience to cover both sides.

That said, we have assisted many Share Scheme lawyers, wishing to utilise their skillset, but broaden their experience, move over to the Consulting side.   Within a Consulting firm the emphasis is more on advising, and building a client base, rather than focusing on transactional output of a law firm.    Having a broader range of experience makes a candidate’s value to the in-house market far more attractive, as a wider understanding of a subject, the better value for money to any prospective employer.

Whether you are a qualified Incentives/ Share Schemes lawyer, qualified Accountant acting as a Consultant, or firm wishing to appoint a professional in this field, Harvey Sutton have been specialising in recruitment in this sector for over 30 years.
