We are currently working with this leading professional services firm with a renowned Reward practice specialising in every aspect of employee pay and they are currently seeking a qualified Employee Share Schemes lawyer for their Reward & Incentives team. Compared to a traditional law firm, this role would give you the opportunity to do less transaction work whilst allowing you to expand your skillset and enjoy working within a team of talented Reward individuals. The team is made up of a diverse mix of people, collaborating to provide the best advice and creative ideas to satisfy client demands. This will be a varied and challenging role and will involve helping listed and private companies with all aspects of designing and implementing incentive arrangements across the UK and overseas. You will be supporting a variety of clients, from large global corporations within the financial services and non-financial services sector right through to smaller, fast-growing businesses, both listed and private companies, with their tax, legal, regulatory and compliance obligations.
Key tasks will include:
· Advising on commercial and practical issues related to the structure and design of employee equity and cash incentive plans.
· Supporting companies with the implementation and operation of equity and cash incentive plans in the UK and globally.
· Drafting a wide range of share plan documentation (plan rules, shareholder circulars, board and remuneration committee meetings, employer and employee communications, trust documentation etc).
· Providing ad hoc practical advice to clients operating their plans. Attending client meetings and speaking to clients as required to discuss the advice – we aim to act as part of the client team, to grow and develop our excellent client relationships.
· Providing support on proposals and business development activity (e.g. preparing slides, bid responses, developing your own client relationships).
· Assistance with preparing technical updates to send to clients and contacts, in relation to the changes of tax and legal treatment of incentives.
Key Requirements:
· An experienced Share Schemes / Incentives Lawyer
· A belief in delivering legal services as part of a multidisciplinary offering.
· Good team player with excellent organisational skills
· Ability to prioritise workload with a flexible approach, ensuring deadlines are met.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills, making complex issues clear for clients.
· Formal drafting experience.
· Able to take ownership and use initiative to resolve problems.
· A team builder who recognises the importance of creating an environment where people work well together, support each other and enjoy each other’s company.
· Willingness to learn and deal with new ideas and technical areas.
· Pro-active and able to take ownership of delivering projects to clients.
