The team at Harvey Sutton make it their business to understand the needs and requirements of both their clients and candidates. We are proud of their reputation for building strong, long -term working relationships, with many individuals returning again and again, either with their own recruitment needs, or simply to obtain up-to-date information on a particular market.

With a wealth of experience, together with unrivalled industry knowledge in these core sectors, Ben Jackson and Ian Fletcher will provide you with the best advice.

Ben Jackson

As Director of Harvey Sutton, Ben has almost 30 years’ experience under his belt and has significant recruitment experience across Restructuring & Insolvency and Rewards & Incentives.  Whether you are a candidate looking for your next career move, or client wishing to hire the best recruits, he is the man to go to!

On occasion when he does have some spare time, you’re likely to find him on the beach enjoying his favourite pastime surfing, or simply being Dad and spending time with his two children and of course his wife and dog!

Ian Fletcher

After training as a London solicitor, Ian joined Harvey Sutton in 2002 where he developed the employment and pensions arm of the business.  More recently, he has helped Ben expand the Restructuring and Reward practices.

Ian enjoys the benefits of working for a niche consultancy with a stellar reputation in the areas in which it operates.  He is also an accredited coach, which he finds particularly useful when helping candidates maximise their potential during the interview process.

In his spare time, he too enjoys being a Dad and favourite topics of conversation include cooking, football and mountain walking.

In today’s world of on-line portals and algorithmic software selection, many candidates never really get a chance to shine in front of a client.  Their application is assessed by a computer program which harvests what it believes to be the best CVs for the role being recruited and discards the rest. No feedback following rejection, it’s just a “thanks but no thanks” automated response.

We see this type of filtering process becoming increasingly common but herein lies the problem: human characteristics are not the same as two dimensional pieces of code that can be uploaded, tabulated and processed.  LinkedIn is great in theory, but your uploaded application is simply one algorithmic statistic amongst hundreds.

Having someone who knows you and the market you operate in well can make all the difference.  If you want to find a job which satisfies, then working with an intermediary who can bypass the website portals and HR filtering, and instead liaise directly with the hiring Partner, can play a big difference to a CV submission. If you want to short-cut the competition, then use an agency that has operated in your field over 30 years, knows the market inside-out, and has a history of helping with client decision-making.

Why use Harvey Sutton? The recruiting Partners of today were more than likely our candidates of yesterday.  It really pays to work with people who know your market better than you may think.
