Restructuring Services Executive

Job Purpose

This position has become available as a result of increased workflow in the Nottingham Restructuring Services team and the lack of an experienced insolvency administrator.  Duties for this level are currently being carried out by 2 Managers, reducing profitability.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for a portfolio of principally corporate insolvency engagements with a particular focus on Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations and Administrations and Law of Property Act Receiverships.

Job Role

  • You will be pro-active in progressing those cases in conjunction with the your manager and office-holder.
  • Manage a portfolio of cases including Administrations and CVLs and LPA’s.
  • Carry out duties efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with relevant legal and statutory obligations and the firm’s procedures.
  • Sit in and contribute to strategy meetings.
  • Deal with the incoming and outgoing post.
  • Deal with control and custody of company records and archiving.
  • Assist with statutory case tasks and maintain diary updates.
  • Prepare periodic case reviews for review by manager.
  • Prepare progress reports, remuneration approval reports and overseeing decision procedures.
  • Set up new cases on IPS and prepare all relevant paperwork for new cases.
  • Send simple case related correspondence.
  • Prepare correspondence for more complex matters for approval by manager.
  • Deal with initial notices to Registrar of Companies, court, advertisements and reports to creditors following appointment.
  • Set up of creditors and debtors on IPS and maintain creditors and debtor files with up-to-date control schedules.
  • Deal with creditor queries and disputes.
  • Take minutes of meetings.
  • Be proactive in dealing with outstanding matters on the assignments.
  • Deal with creditor queries both via telephone and through written correspondence.
  • Liaise directly with agents and solicitors on matters.
  • Have an understanding of antecedent investigations and be able to undertake analysis of company records.
  • Assist tax/VAT specialists to complete formal returns.
  • Prepare conduct reports for submission to the Insolvency Service.
  • Ensure a cost-effective administration of cases, with prompt and efficient realisation of assets.
  • Process and ensure that the necessary approvals are obtained for billing.
  • Manage a portfolio using appropriate forms and maintain files in accordance with the team’s standardised format.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and intermediaries via team-on-team business development activities.
  • Understand and are able to produce SIP 9 reports.

Person Specification

  • Previous Insolvency experience is not required but preferable. The role would be suitable to someone with 1-3 years of insolvency/professional service experience or a graduate/college leaver.
  • Must have experience of using Microsoft Office programmes (or equivalent).
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of jobs/tasks and able to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Experience of dealing with external stakeholders such as; customers, suppliers and professional advisors.
  • Experience of producing reports.
  • Must be able to present a professional image to the firm’s clients.
  • Good written and oral presentation skills required.
  • Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen.
  • Ability to express ideas with authority and conviction through verbal and written communication.
  • Desire to help grow and develop the department.
  • Keen to assist with networking events.
  • Ability to develop self and others.
  • Ability to research and interpret information.
